🎣 Blog day and another challenging angling session in the bitterly cold conditions
Today is blog day and it’s been twenty-two years and twenty-five weeks since I published my first post. I’ve said a few times recently, that it was certainly warmer back in July 5, 2003, and that was definitely the case this morning, when I went fishing.
After two pond blanks on the bounce, I returned for a third visit, hoping to turn around my fortunes. However, with a bitterly cold wind north-east wind, it was always going to be a tough one. That proved the case, as a brace of blanks became a hat-trick.
The water was about one metre deep, and I fished towards trailing branches in the water, about one-rod length out from the bank. It was the same approach as the recent sessions, with a single maggot on a Drennan Super Specialist size 18 hook, beneath a 0.8g Drennan crystal waggler.
