🎣 Angling | An over the moon fish, a bonus fish and a big surprise fish
After a number of maggot sessions – which were all very productive, by the way – I fancied a pop at tench in what I’ve recently been calling the needle-in-a-haystack venue. It’s a small pool and although it does contain tincas, there aren’t many.
There are also bream in there, and I would put them in the same category as the tincas, when it comes to potential fish on the bank. I think, as anglers though, we all love a challenge. I know that I do.
You might not always catch your target species but when you do – due to the circumstances of the capture – the sense of achievement is exciting. That was the case this morning.
On the pool at first light, I caught a tench, a bream and a pike, all classified as per the heading. I fished for three hours and all the fish caught needed the landing net. Quality over quantity. Suits me.
