Early morning fishing on the Staffs/Worcs Canal
My attempt to connect with an early tench is proving to be difficult.
On the lake I’ve been fishing, there haven’t been any signs that the tincas have stirred yet.
They will though, in due course.
This morning though, up at first light, I had a couple of hours on the Staffordshire/Worcestershire Canal.
It was very pleasant, and although not prolific, I caught two species of fish.
I had roach plucks and sucked maggots, and would no doubt have banked a few of those with a smaller hook and one maggot, but I was aiming for better quality fish.
You can follow the session via the video below.
Tackle: Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line. Drennan 0.6g waggler. Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook.
Fantastic Perch Stewart
I was thrilled, and although not on a conventional perch bait, nevertheless they all count.
