February 4

Arriving home at 6.15 a.m. there was a dawn chorus of sorts just breaking, with several robins and blackbirds getting involved.

February 6

All the snowdrops in the garden are now in flower.

Nice to see a coal tit on the feeder, haven’t seen one for a while.

February 7

A pair of long-tailed tits visiting the feeding station.

February 9

Male house sparrow in the garden. There are lots around the green and it took a while for them to find us, but now they’re regular. An example of providing a food source and they’ll come

February 10

Four ravens soaring high over woodland on the eastern slope.

February 11

First amphibian of the year, a pair of common frogs locked together in the main garden pond. Looking forward to spawn in due course.

February 12

Three mistle thrushes in flight across the lane, heading up the eastern slope.
