Monday memory: Rhyl from 1979
Back in the days when we took shots on a camera and then had them developed, we also wrote details on the back of the photographs.
I’m glad I did on this one because, although I know it was taken at Rhyl, I couldn’t remember the year, never mind the month.
It was July 1979 and I was seventeen years of age.
I can recall the photograph being taken but what I didn’t realise at the time is just how much Rhyl would change over the years.
The background (and the foreground for that matter) is now unrecognisable.
The image gives insight into the Rhyl of the past, certainly for me on a personal level.
Memories, great aren’t they?
