Talk football, go fishing

Watch the accompanying video.

I did my weekly Bayside Radio Welsh football chat with Jeff Pearson in the morning.

Then, in the afternoon, I went fishing.

It’s been a bitterly cold day but I’m a great believer that as long as your bait’s in the water, you’ve always got a chance.

The pond I was on is shallow anyway – two feet deep – and with the water being crystal-clear at the moment, it was certainly a challenge.

I was there for less than two hours and caught consistently.

It was my usual set-up – a small waggler, 4lb line and two maggots on a size 14 hook.

A grey heron came in to land, saw me and flew off.

It certainly wasn’t expecting to share the water with anyone else.
