As the water clears, the margins become even more of a challenge
It’s back to the margins of a pond for this angling session and, as the colour drops out of the water, it was definitely more of a challenge.
Not only the clarity but also, as we move on in the year, the water temperature is falling.
I didn’t need a thermometer to remind me of the latter, just holding the fish was enough to confirm that.
I do enjoy a challenge though and although I didn’t catch many on this short session, the ones I did were certainly rewarding.
The water was about eighteen inches deep, clear and the underwater vegetation had died off.
It was a decent result to catch anything, regardless of size, when you take everything into account.
Plus, I had a small pike in the area, so it was even more rewarding having to keep dodging that.
Not sure what happened to the video, I ended up publishing just the opening clip, hence the unedited ending.
By the time I realised, I had cleared all the footage from my phone.
Anyway, I caught roach and thankfully no monsters, as they would have been lost forever, although I did get photographs for the lead image.
