First pike session of the new season and I’m absolutely thrilled

Moving on from species and method, but not venue, I got my pike dead-baiting season underway on a small pond.

It’s one where, whenever I’ve fished for perch or roach, I’ve come up against pike on every occasion.

Therefore, based on that, I was guaranteed to catch this time.

Or was I?

Well, as anglers, we know that it’s a funny old game sometimes and nothing can ever be taken for granted.

Fortunately, as I sat there watching two motionless floats, I was fully aware of the unpredictability of catching fish.

On the other hand I was very confident, and when the float started to tremble and then bob, I lifted the rod in anticipation.

You can see the fish in the video above.

Caught in 2-3 feet of water on a small dead perch and a single size 4 hook.

It’s great to get off the mark and I’m looking forward to more pike sessions over the next six months.

I was particularly thrilled with this one due to the nature of the venue. You don’t always think small ponds when considering pike.

  1. Reading about your wins on the bonds inspired me to start investing more earlier in the year and luckily started to see small wins since March , fortunate to win twice this month a total of £150 long may our luck 🍀 continue.Good luck for the future draws .

    1. Nice one, Alan.
It’s working well for me, getting a regular trickle each month.
Plus, you will always keep your original sum invested, there’s no gamble there.
Hopefully we’ll both keep getting returns that we’re happy with and there’s always the possibility of something special each month.
