Back among the tincas — I was sure, I felt secure, until love took a detour — Swifts still hanging on — A nature walk in the valley

A nature walk in the valley

Once home after fishing and following a shower, I went with my wife and dog for a walk in the local woodland where we live.

There were several lords-and-ladies at the entrance point to the woods, as we came off the lane.

I captured them in the video below with other specifics, as well as general nature clips.

The acorn – a sign that autumn isn’t far away – is from a pedunculate oak. It’s on a stem, while the sessile oak (our other native oak) has the acorns attached to the leaf.

The area we covered is tiny compared to the full extent of the valley, which is much larger than even many locals realise.

It’s great though and I love it.

I’ve always had an interest in the natural world ever since I was a child.
