Exit from the Champions League wasn’t the end of the European journey for The New Saints because the team dropped into the Europa Conference League.
Prior to the game against the champions of Luxembourg, FC Swift Hesperange, I wrote my column for the programme and the match preview, which was published on the club’s website.
I knew it was going to be a tough one – based on recent developments and investment in the Luxembourg club – and that proved to be the case.
It was an end-to-end game with opportunities for both sides.
The final score of 1–1 means that it’s still very much game on for next week on mainland Europe.
