Fishing and what a difference a day makes
The reason that I was up at first light, which was no surprise, was that I was going fishing.
Continuing after lake tench, I loaded the car and set off.
As always, on arrival I mixed some brown crumb and sweetcorn before throwing a few balls about three rod lengths out.
The venue is one of those where the initial baiting accuracy isn’t that important.
There is a margin and then it drops off fairly steeply into water that gets gradually deeper the further you go out.
There aren’t any gullies, channels or such like, all you need to do is bait an area and fish to it, as the tench will invariably find food as they search out the bottom.
