Caught any whales or sharks?
As far as the angling session was concerned, I was back on the same venue as the previous one and in the same spot using the same tactics and approach.
This time though I had no tench, just roach action.
It’s to be expected however, because, as well as being confident, you also have to be realistic.
It’s not the sort of place where you will catch tench every time, which is what makes the ones I do net even more special.
I saw a dog walker, who asked me if I had caught any whales or sharks.
I get that line of conversation occasionally, usually though it’s more of ‘have you caught your supper?’ which people to tend to use.
Certainly, as far as the latter is concerned, it creates an opportunity to talk about catch-and-release in particular and the benefit of angling to the environment in general.
