It worked as I had a roach bite (I didn’t hook every one) on each cast I made.
Apart from one, as I struck at a much bigger fish.
The few seconds I was connected told me that it was a tench.
You don’t get many second bites of the cherry on this venue but it did inspire me to return.
When you lose a fish it can either deflate you or make you more determined.
In my case it was definitely the latter so, as they say, watch this space on that one.
