A very special holiday indeed — A walk around Betws-y-Coed — Destination Bae Trearddur — Rounding the day off fishing for wrasse

Rounding the day off fishing for wrasse

Once we had settled in and done some shopping – which included a visit to Winnie’s Worms in Holyhead – I went fishing.

With the plan to do rock fishing, that meant I had a single telescopic rod with all the tackle required in a small shoulder bag.

My first choice bait of ragworm wasn’t available, so I went for frozen lugworm.

Not as good, in my opinion, but better than nothing.

Wrasse fishing on the rocks at Trearddur Bay.

I was fishing with a float, just as the tide was turning and it proved to be very slow indeed.

I was there a couple of hours and caught just the one wrasse right at the end.

It’s a thin line sometimes in fishing but I’m happy to say that I was on the right side of it.
