More great outdoors, this time in the valley

There’s something very uplifting about being in the great outdoors and there was more of that in the afternoon, when I went for a birding walk around Cotwall End Valley where I live.

Yesterday, I saw my first patch rook of the year and a little egret feeding on a field as well as two muntjacs together.

This time, the little egret (assuming it’s the same one) was still in the field.

The valley covers a huge area and I’m sure that even most people who live in the vicinity don’t appreciate just how big it is.

Once you’re on the ground though and walk, as opposed to driving along the lane, you see the full extent of the wider area.
