A slow angling session on the canal but it comes good right at the end

I didn’t wake until 6.00 p.m. but still plenty of time to grab an hour or so on the Staffordshire/Worcestershire canal.

Going for my usual double-maggot on a size 14 hook, it was very slow indeed.

I had a couple of dips on the float but nothing developed.

Then, right at the end, the float disappeared and I struck into the bream that you can see in the lead image.

It was my last cast as well, so definitely a case of coming good at the end.
