Although I wouldn’t use the word ‘cold’, nevertheless it wasn’t as mild first thing this morning compared to what we’ve become accustomed to of late.
It didn’t affect anything though and, as you can see from the video, the opening words of ‘kitchen, flask, fishing’ meant that it was business as usual.
Fishing a small pool, I presented a couple of maggots on a size 14 hook in four feet of water. The set-up is in the video.
It wasn’t a bite every cast, although on some of these places I fish you never know whether the fishing is slow anyway or there’s a pike in the swim.
If the bad news is that I didn’t have continual action then the good news is that I did catch.
