Weather forecasts, this morning’s angling session and a new rucksack

I was the only angler on the venue this morning and therefore I set up in my chosen spot. There’s always a plan b just in case but I find I rarely need it.

This morning’s session was in four feet of water, where I fished two white maggots on a size 14 Drennan Super Specialist hook.

I was only one rod-length or so from the bank, so although the spot was quite overgrown I didn’t have any issues presenting the bait.

I kept the fish interested by trickling in loose maggots. The action was steady rather than prolific but I caught regularly throughout the short session.

Nothing big made its way to the bank but it was a very enjoyable couple of hours spent by the water’s edge.
