Gladys Glover (played by Judy Holliday) is desperate for fame but since moving to New York City, nothing has happened.
Then, she randomly spots a billboard for rent and decides to take a chance and hires it for a period of time with ‘Gladys Glover’ written on it.
People begin to wonder who Gladys Glover is and in spite of being a nobody and doing nothing, she suddenly becomes famous.
She promotes products, ends up on television and everyone wants a piece of the action.
Although she’s a dumb blonde – and Judy Holliday plays the part extremely well – she’s still aware that with two men chasing her, only one is genuine.
So, farewell Evan Adams III (Peter Lawford) and hello Pete Sheppard (Jack Lemmon).
Released in 1954, it’s a very good film and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
