A 1960 black and white British film, The League Of Gentlemen story begins with a number of ex-military men all receiving an invitation to attend a meeting.
Organised by Norman Hyde (Jack Hawkins) they get involved in a bank robbery.
It’s very well-executed and prior to the robbery itself, they take advantage of their military backgrounds to steal weapons from an army base.
It almost goes to plan but in the end they are caught out by a young child who collects car registration numbers.
Remember that as a hobby?
