As long as your bait’s in the water you’ve always got a chance but that doesn’t mean to say you’ll definitely catch something

Today’s angling session was a short one on a canal and, with the water very clear, a late one as well.

I fished next to a lock, with the boxes being ticked as far as fish location was concerned.

However, in the ninety minutes I was there, I didn’t even get a bite.

When I arrived, I saw one of the regulars who usually does very well on there.

He was leaving and after nothing all day, he said he’d had enough.
