Shotatton lapwings, work and then fishing afterwards on the upper Severn

The swim itself was four feet deep at the edge, dropping to six feet a few yards out and that’s where I put the bait.

Although I did lose tackle early on it wasn’t a snaggy swim and, after that initial concern, everything was fine.

The session was 3.5 hours and it was dark by the time I had my one and only bite.
