Pursuing pond carp and a last cast result

The thing is, you have nothing to lose.

As it was, which you can see from the lead image, it was a happy ending as far as I was concerned.

It was a lovely feeling to slip the fish over the landing net and lift it out of the water.

It’s not a big carp, compared to what I could catch elsewhere, but every fish is always relative to the specifics of each venue.

I didn’t weigh it but I was absolutely thrilled to get this one on the bank.

It was my last cast as well, I’d had a couple of hours and I was getting ready to go home.
