In ten weeks time I will be sixty years of age.
In the last week the two boxes that I need to tick in order to implement the next stage of my life have both made steps forward.
Nothing is over the line yet but I do feel very excited. More of that in due course. Hopefully.
Today’s angling session was a morning one, as opposed to my usual afternoon outings.
I caught lots of roach and I finally got a nice perch on the bank, after a few recent hook-pulls.
That’s why I have been sticking with the 4lb line straight through to a size 14 hook.
It hasn’t been putting off the roach either.
I was there for less than two hours but it was very profitable.
I also share tips on feeding as well, in the video.
You can comment on this post, along with anything general here.
The tackle used was as follows:
Greys Prodigy 12’ rod and a Shimano 3500 reel loaded with Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.
The float was a 0.6g Drennan Crystal Waggler.
The hook was a Drennan Super Specialist size 14 with two white maggots.
I fished 1.5 rod lengths from the bank in 3/4 feet of water and fed sloppy brown crumb and loose maggots.
