In between work sessions – it’s always busy the day after a game – I visited a local pool in pursuit of roach.
I lost count of the number of fish that I caught, which is a good sign, mostly roach but one perch and one rudd.
I would have had a lot more if two mute swans hadn’t been camped in my swim for long periods of time.
Plus, pike as well.
In fact, I was just happy to catch anything, never mind have a decent session as far as numbers were concerned.
There’s more in the video below, recorded at the water’s edge.
The tackle used was as follows:
Greys Prodigy 12’ rod and a Shimano 3500 reel loaded with Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.
There was 4 feet length of 3lb 8oz Drennan Team England joined by a loop-to-loop knot.
The float was a 0.6g Drennan Crystal Waggler.
The hook was a Drennan Super Specialist size 18 with a single white maggot.
I fished two rod lengths out in four feet of water over brown crumb and mixed maggots.
