✝️ The Church at Hiraeth: Don’t dwell on the past but instead look to the future, inspired by my last place of employment
✝️ The inspiration for this week’s The Church at Hiraeth’s Wednesday Words of Wisdom comes from a brief conversation I had with a neighbour.
‘They’ve won the treble’, he said to me one morning this week. ‘Who?’, I asked, to which he replied, ‘The New Saints’.
I didn’t know they had won the league (not surprised though, as they were top of the table when I left), lifted the Welsh League Cup (they had reached the final by the time I retired) or even made the final of the Welsh Cup.
I don’t know one result since December 22, if they’ve made any signings or who has departed the club etc.
There’s more in the video but, as you can see, the fact that you’re not interested in something from the past doesn’t mean to say there’s anything untoward or negative going on.
It just means that you’ve moved on. In my case it’s all positive.
As Isaiah 43:18-19 tells us:
Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
