My angling routine at the moment means I’m on the bank at first-light.
I’ve been commenting on the fact that I haven’t needed the alarm to wake me, well this morning I did.
On a pool, I fished with a sardine tail on each rod, in a session that lasted for three hours.
I didn’t get a single enquiry, as the floats remained motionless. It’s been a while though since I last had a blank, so I can’t complain.
Tackle: Wychwood Extremis 3lb pike rod/Wychwood Extremis 50 reel and Shakespeare 3lb rod/Regal X 4050BRT reel. 16lb Sufix Synergy line. Greys Prowla 30g and Drennan Zeppler 35g floats.
Nature notes: Chiffchaff singing in the immediate area (not seen). Pair of jays landed in far bank trees. Silent ring-necked parakeet in flight. Song thrush singing.
Once home after an early fishing session, I often go with my wife and dog for a walk in the immediate area.
This time though, we went to Himley Hall, which is very close to where we live.
It’s originally a stately home and has lots of history.
King Charles I and his troops camped in the grounds on their way to the Battle of Naseby in 1646.
King Edward VIII spent his last weekend there, in 1936, before his abdication.
The parkland was designed by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown.
My wife informed me that Timeless is now on Amazon. It ran for two seasons from 2016-2018 and is an American television series.
It’s based on a team of people who travel back in time, in order to stop a shadowy organisation who are trying to change the course of history.
I loved it first time round and I’m definitely going to do the same now as well.
I enjoy time travel productions and I’ve got my viewing sorted for the immediate future.
