🗣️ Taking pride in your own personal space
I enjoy pottering around the home and the garden, and first thing today that meant sweeping the drive and the path, ensuring everything looked clean and tidy.
Every time I do it, it takes me back to when I was a child.
Growing up on a council estate, we may not have been a wealthy demographic, but it was a very clean environment.
It was a common sight to see women sweeping the street outside their own home, plus cleaning the exterior of the property itself.
The philosophy was that although we didn’t have a lot of money, we could still be clean and presentable.
It was a working class principle and something I’ve always adhered to, without even thinking about it.
It’s not about keeping up with the Jones’ but rather taking pride in your own personal space.
