Playing football, final tench session of the year, 1,104 weeks and Fiorentina away
⚽️ Putting the boots on for the second time in three days
Although I’m in my 60s, I still enjoy playing football.
In fact, the latest game came when I was 62 years, four months, one week and two days old.
And I’m still going strong.
🎣 My final tench campaign of the year
I have thoroughly enjoyed my fishing this year but, as they say, all good things must come to an end.
Back on the lake for the final time, certainly as far as the tincas are concerned anyway, I went through my usual routine in terms of preparation and execution.
As you can see in the video, I went out with a whimper rather than a bang, however I still caught fish, so at least I wasn’t a blanker.
🪱 Tackle, bait and tactics
Fox Barbel Special 1.5 test curve rod and an Okuma Zeon reel.
6lb Maxima Chameleon, with a six-inch hook-length created by a small shot and 8mm bead.
Above that was a 1/2 ounce lead. Size 10 Drennan Super Specialist hook.
Single grain of corn/five maggots over brown crumb, maggots (red and white) and sweetcorn, twenty metres out.
🦆 Nature notes while fishing
Grey heron in the margins.
Two house martins passing through on migration.
Cormorant circled the lake before moving on.
💻 Still going strong as far as blogging is concerned
If, as previously mentioned, my footballing journey is still on track then most definitely equally, if not more so, my blogging is as well.
Today is 1,104 weeks since I first put pen to paper – or should that be fingertip to keyboard – and posted my first blog entry.
⚽️ Florence here I come
The draw has been made for the UEFA Conference League and it’s true to say that I’m looking forward to visiting Florence.
Without a doubt, it’s Fiorentina on the road that’s the star game, as far as the league phase fixtures are concerned.
