Although we have an air temperature of 29C maximum today, it’s very pleasant compared to the 10C on top of that, which we’ve experienced during the last five days.

Going to bed after midnight, I was up at 3.40 a.m. to go fishing on the Worcestershire River Stour. The session was for three hours from first light.

It was bites all the way from the first cast as far as the opening 2.5 hours were concerned, with chub, gudgeon, perch and roach on the bank. Then it slowed down. The early bird catches the worm. indeed.
