Although we love Trearddur Bay, whenever we are here, there are always other places that we want to visit. The three in the heading were on today’s menu, as we went from one to the other.

I love woodland anyway but the big attraction with Newborough are the red squirrels. We sometimes walk through the forest, as a self-found creature is the best, but it’s not exactly cheating to hang around the feeders.

Again, they didn’t disappoint and I was able to capture footage for the video. Since my last visit, I’ve had a new iPhone, and it’s much better than the previous one for recording at distance.

From there, we went to the village with the long name: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. It was a clever 19th century marketing ploy that birthed the name.

It’s one that actually worked as well, and even today you see coaches on the main store car park, as well as hear lots of different accents from around the world.

While we were there, a coach load of American tourists pulled up and we got into conversation with a few, as they were asking about our dog. Dilwyn is certainly a conversation starter.

From there, we went across to the south-east tip of the island, as we spent some time at Beaumaris. It’s a lovely place and we often talk about staying there but, somehow, it’s Trearddur Bay that keeps pulling us back.

That’s where the video concludes, as I fished once again, off the Trearddur rocks. I struggled to get bait, in order to get out this morning, but have now managed to pick up enough worms to see me through the week.

The session was busy, with both ballan and corkwing wrasse on the bank. I fished the turn of low water and, as per my previous two sessions, presented the bait very close to the rocks. You don’t need to cast to the horizon to get among the fish.

Feel free to drop a comment in the guestbook, I look forward to hearing from you. Maybe you recognise the locations featured in the footage or even live there yourself. If it’s the latter, you’ve certainly hit life’s jackpot.
