I went for the slightly heavier weight (usually it’s 1/4 ounce) as the wind was blowing into the bank I was fishing from and it made tightening to the lead easier, which helped bite detection.
It was a slow session but at least I caught fish, albeit just one of my target species.
I did lose three though, which I put down to finicky feeding.
The roach were more obliging, however, and as I’ve mentioned before, I will be after them specifically later in the year.
