Fishing a small woodland pool
It’s been a while since I used those words in a blog post, as my focus for a month or so has been on tench.
However, I fancied a session on such a venue again and with a couple of hours free late afternoon, I loaded the car and set off.
There is one rural junction that at certain times of the day (i.e. heavy school and work traffic periods) takes a little longer to navigate because I’m turning right, but once I was past there it was plain sailing.
The pool I fished is, like many other shallow ones at this time of the year, almost covered in lily pads.
I say ‘almost’ intentionally, because invariably there will be clear spots, even if they are small, where you can drop a bait.
