Fishing and a change is as good as a rest, lucky escapes and not so, groundhog day — The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air 1994

I trickled small balls of brown crumb/maggots in the water by hand as I was only one rod length from the bank.

Catching from the off, I had lots of very small perch and one roach with pretty much a fish every cast.

Then it went quiet and as I lifted a perch from the water I realised why.

A pike lunged at it and it had what they call a lucky escape.

It was just a second away from being locked in the jaws of the bigger predator.
