I can’t neglect my favourite species

The perch is number one as far as my own fishing favourites are concerned.

I’ve done a lot of tench hunting lately though, so in order to let perch know that I haven’t forgotten about them, I did a couple of short sessions on a pool.

I didn’t do any filming proper so there’s no video from the trip, other than to capture a few fish.

Legering maggots, I had bites from small perch but nothing more than a few ounces.

Although perch in the venue do grow to 3lb+ I also have lots of sessions on there that produce just small ones, or even none at all on some occasions.
