Diana Ross & The Supremes v The Marvelettes
I’m currently listening to Sophisticated Soul in the car, a 1968 album by The Marvelettes.
I’ve never really thought about it but I would say that Diana Ross & The Supremes is my favourite Motown all-girl group.
Only as far as singles are concerned though.
After all, the likes of In And Out Of Love, My World Is Empty Without You and The Happening etc are all absolute classics.
However, when it comes to albums, it’s The Marvelettes for me.
I’m thoroughly enjoying Sophisticated Soul at the moment, which as an original album is great when you’re doing short journeys in the car.
When I’m on a longer trip, I listen to a personal playlist or one of those ‘Made for you’ options that Spotify puts together.
