Roe deer and skylarks
On the way to my fishing session, a roe deer crossed the road.
It was moving from one wooded area to another and I saw one in exactly the same location a few years back.
It is less than two minutes from home and one of the big pluses about living where I do.
Staying with the nature theme, there are nesting skylarks in walking distance as well.
They’re lovely birds but sadly have declined in numbers from when I was a child.
In this particular place, you can hear them – and see them, of course – as they flutter above their breeding territory.
