Another angling session and the ones that got away
Small pools have been a regular feature of my angling in 2023 and that’s where this report comes from.
The venue in question has been kind to me, concerning bream in particular.
Not what you expect necessarily from ponds, but it just goes to show that small waters don’t always equal tiny fish, as the bream I’ve caught have been excellent,
As per my previous visits, I fished with a quiver tip rod and 6lb line straight through to a size 10 Drennan Super Specialist hook.
I only needed a small bomb, as a gentle underarm flick was enough to put the grain of corn in the centre of the pond.
Fishing over corn, I had plenty of interest from the roach.
They’re in there in numbers and the tackle used certainly doesn’t put them off.
