Third time lucky, as they say, on the angling front for the bream magnet — Tackle set up and ready to go — A life lesson from a moorhen

A life lesson from a moorhen

While I was there, I fed an adult moorhen with small grains of corn and noticed that the bird, after eating for itself, was then gathering in its beak to take back to the chicks in the nest.

That’s why I fed small pieces.

There’s an important principle, though, in what I observed.

The bird was searching for food to feed its youngsters but was also eating itself.

If you want to be a blessing to others, you have to be blessed yourself.

You can only give out of your own abundance.

If you’re empty, there’s nothing to give.
