Third time lucky, as they say, on the angling front for the bream magnet — Tackle set up and ready to go — A life lesson from a moorhen

Legering a single grain of corn on a size 10 hook, I got off to a great start with a small roach.

I had plenty of activity from them but even they dried up in the end.

However, on my last cast, as I was beginning to pack away – I always leave the net and rod till last – I had movement on the quiver tip.

Lifting the rod itself, I was obviously not connected to another small roach.

Bringing the bream in, the fact that I’d been in that position in the two previous visits was very much on my mind.
