Fishing a large reservoir and it comes good in the end

It doesn’t get dark now until after 8.00 p.m. and that, combined with rising temperatures, means that it’s good for fishing.

I noticed this week, driving over a local stretch on the Staffordshire/Worcestershire Canal, that there were a number of anglers enjoying the sunshine.

I saw daylight out on a huge reservoir, and for three of the four hours, I thought it was groundhog day from yesterday, where I blanked.

However, right at the end it came good as I caught lots of bream, a perch and a pike.

I was fishing with two maggots on a size 12 hook and casting three rod lengths out from the bank.
