A walk around Prestatyn with history quite literally beneath your feet

The buildings themselves are impressive and many are a reminder of when the railways arrived in the nineteenth century.

The advent of steam saw Prestatyn grow in size as it became a popular vacation resort for Victorian town and city dwellers.

It was also, in 1965, the place where the UK’s first Kwik Save opened.

John Prescott was born there and it was just along the coast, at Rhyl, where he was infamously egged by a protester, who he punched in return.

His previous nickname of ‘two jags’ led to him also being known as ‘two jabs’. Plus, over the years, there have been others as well.
