I was fishing 1.5 rod lengths from the bank but in fairly shallow water of around two feet.
I caught roach but I also had a small pike in the swim that made things very difficult.
It wasn’t clear water, in the sense that I could see everything, but I couldn’t miss the predator as it kept smashing in to the silvers.
Another spot for a future pike session, although now as we’ve moved on in the month, I’ve put my dead-bait rods away until the autumn.
