Roach memories and the latest session after the species

I’ve caught a lot of roach over the last few months in particular, and with pools and ponds being the main focus of attention, that’s perfectly natural.

When I was younger, roach were the popular fish as far as most anglers were concerned.

There were a lot of club anglers back then and matches would often see big bags of silvers at the weigh-ins.

Trotting a stick float on the Severn or Trent was a common sight, in the days before barbel dominated.

Nowadays, you’re more likely to see a couple of leger rods in the air rather than an angler standing in the middle of the river watching a float.
