Winter is still holding on but, whatever the weather, the fishing continues

With roach being the dominant species in the venue, I wasn’t concerned about the overnight drop in temperature affecting the fishing.

The perch, possibly, but not the roach and that proved to be the case with a few of the latter providing action but none of the former.

I fished a small waggler float in four feet of water with two white maggots on a size 14 hook.

Although it was chilly, I watched a pair of long-tailed tits nest-building as well as feeding maggots to a robin.
