A binoculars walk in the valley followed by jigging for perch in the lilies

I fished smaller patches of open water as well as tiny gaps between the lily pads, which are still there even though it’s autumn now.

It was a very busy time and I would have banked even more perch if I had scaled down.

However, I wanted to stick with the 0.7g jig-head, size 6 hook and two-inch fish in case something bigger turned up.

Although I lost a couple of fish, it proved to be the correct decision.
