Brook angling session, pioneering and I thought I’d hit gold

I thought I saw a bullhead while on the bank.

It looked like the fish was popping its head in and out of cover.

Fishing near the source of the brook, where it’s very shallow and all I’ve ever caught from there are sticklebacks, it would have been a great sighting, never mind a catch.

However, after watching it for some time, I realised it was a section of leaf that was moving in the gentle current.

For a while, I thought I’d hit gold.
