Media Insight, As The New Saints Goes Twelve Points Clear At The Top Of The Table

As always, media preparations for an upcoming game begin pretty much as soon as everything is completed for the previous one.

There’s always a match preview, which I write and publish on the club website, and we do an inhouse press conference with the head coach, Anthony Limbrick.

The JD Cymru Premier MD17 game, against Penybont FC, was a first versus fourth encounter, and although there were fourteen points between the sides, everyone knew it was going to be a tough game.

That was the case on the day, as the visitors came back from behind twice, before The New Saints finally secured the three points.

I was on my own on media for this game so did the match report and Twitter updates, as opposed to the usual TNS Radio commentary.

The 3-2 victory – with goals from Declan McManus (2) and Jordan Williams – means that The New Saints now has a lead of twelve points at the top of the JD Cymru Premier.

Following the game, I interviewed Anthony Limbrick and goalkeeper, Paul Harrison, on the Park Hall pitch.

I always look to get some behind-the-scenes footage as well, prior to a game. It’s different and, of course, it gives an insight into what goes on.

The players are always great when they see me walking around with my iPhone pointing at them!

That’s a key thing about relationships and getting on with people that you work with.

If everyone is comfortable with each other, you get better content.

This was my 39th game of the season and they’re all listed here.
