Before setting off for a working game in the JD Cymru Premier, I headed in the opposite direction for an early start lure fishing on a canal.
To be specific, it was the Staffs/Worcs Canal in the latter county. The canal, of course, is so named because it passes through both Staffordshire and Worcestershire.
It was a nice morning, although there was a slight chill, and that was felt by my fingers.
I was still confident though, but come packing away time, I had encountered my first blank in a while.
I did have a small perch follow the lure on one occasion, but in spite of keeping the rubber fish dancing around at the edge, it didn’t pursue its initial interest.
