Christmas In The Village

No sooner had I got back home from the Oswestry Christmas parade, I was on my way to another festive event, this time in Gornal Wood.

With my wife and granddaughter, Debby and Nyah respectively, we had been looking forward to this very much since we first became aware of it.

We weren’t disappointed, and although it was scaled to fit the location, it was organised well and the attendance was great.

It was Christmas In The Village, after all, not Trafalgar Square.

We love where we now live and feel very much part of the community.

There was a band playing carols and they were excellent, so during a break we went across to say hello.

It turned out that they were from Springs Church, who meet in the village.

It was wonderful to see them actively involved in the community in such a positive way.

Nyah also got to meet Father Christmas as well.

You can hear him in the video, who knew that Santa was from the Black Country?
